High School Track
There will be a high school girls track meeting on Monday, March 1st right after school. Boys track meeting will be determined after basketball season has finished. Girls track will officially start on Wednesday, March 3rd. Boys will again be determined after basketball season ends.
Hawks Runners Up At Hemingford Speech Meet
Saturday was a great day in Hemingford for the Hawk speech team!
Individual placements:

Hay Springs as a team were the runners up!
We will be hosting a family speech day on Saturday at 10am for the students families to watch their performances (as they are still not allowed to attend the meets) and then we are off to districts on Monday, March 1st at South Platte.

Class D All State Band
Congratulations to Sam Hindman, Logan DeCoste, Jocelyn Varvel & Gabriel Varvel who were accepted into the 2021 class d all state band! The band is scheduled for Saturday, March 20th with the location TBD.
This is Sam’s third time being selected for the class d all state bands. Sam auditioned for both the jazz band and concert band and was selected as the top tenor sax player in both bands. He had to choose one to participate in and went with the jazz band.
This will be Joce’s third time being selected for the class d all state band. In both of the last 2 years she has been selected as the top baritone player.
This will be Gabriel’s third time being selected for the band, with this also being the his 2nd year as being selected as the top tuba player.
This is Logan’s 2nd time being accepted into class d all state. This year, Logan was selected as the number 2 bari sax player.
This is quite an accomplishment and an honor for these students. If you see them, make sure to congratulate them!
