Elementary students took a trip to the Hay Springs Fire Department this week to learn about fire safety. Volunteer firefighters Matt Anderson, Craig Housh, and Everette Langford were present to teach students about fire prevention and the steps to take in the event of a fire. HSVFD would like to remind all families to review their fire safety plan, check the batteries in their smoke detectors regularly, and have at least one fire extinguisher in their home.
Just a reminder that today’s Junior High Girls Volleyball games are being held in Rushville at the middle school. Please go and cheer the Hawks on!

It’s that magical time of the year again…no, not Christmas just yet! It’s Book Fair time! Hay Springs Public School will be having the book fair this fall starting October 11th and going through October 14th. More information will be coming soon, so watch this space!
The JR High Football game kickoff time has been changed from 3:00 PM to 2:30 PM for tomorrow’s(Friday, October 1st) game at Cody-Kilgore. So, make sure you take off 30 minutes earlier!
