Mr. Bounous’s 6th Grade World Geography class enjoyed some Poutine, the National Dish of Canada, after learning about our northern neighbor. French fries, cheese curds, and gravy are the traditional ingredients in poutine, which was invented in Quebec, Canada.
The elementary celebrated their penny war win with a hot cocoa bar and movie! Thank you to everyone who donated to this and a big thank you to our student council members for helping make this special for the kids!
Hay Springs Public Schools had a Christmas door decorating contest this year. Here is a small sample of some of the amazing decorations throughout the school. The winners were Crystal and Dakota!
The Algebra 1 class just finished a Unit on Linear and Nonlinear Functions where they learned how to graph linear and absolute value functions and the effects of transformations on the graphs of those functions. Using this new knowledge, they used Desmos graphing calculator to write their own equations to create a Christmas Tree. Merry Christmas from the Algebra 1 class!

Congratulations to Emma Albrecht, Parker Wellnitz, Mason Albrecht, and Jacob Dorshorst for being selected for the Oregon Trail Honor Band sponsored by Doane University and held at Bridgeport High School on Monday, January 5th. The band will be directed by Dr. Andrew Feyes. Students will begin rehearsals at 9:30am Monday morning with a concert at 5pm at the Bridgeport auditorium.

Andi Schiaffo placed 2nd at Gordon-Rushville on Friday. This was her last wrestling match as a Hawk. She graduates at semester and will be attending boot camp for the United States Navy. Congratulations Andi!
