EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARD NOMINATIONS ARE DUE TOMORROW!!

A cash award of $500 will be presented to one classroom teacher employed by Hay Springs Public Schools in grades Pre-K through twelve at the conclusion of the 2015-2016 school year.

The Excellence in Teaching Award is sponsored by Security First Bank along with the American Legion.  This award seeks to encourage and recognize the professional and leadership excellence of Hay Springs educators essential for quality education, increase awareness of the positive aspects of education in Nebraska, and promote pride in the school and community.

The nominee must be a certified employee for Hay Springs Public Schools.  The teacher should be exceptionally skilled, dedicated and have the ability to inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn.  The teacher should have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues, and should play an active and useful role in the community as well in the school.

Nominations can be made by anyone residing in the Hay Springs School District by filling out the application and mailing it to Adriene Kelly, PO Box 280, Hay Springs, NE 69347 or dropping the application off at the school office.

Great Plains Communication awarded Hay Springs School a Technology grant for $5000

 

Great Plains Communication awarded Hay Springs School a Technology grant for $5000.  The grant award will be used to purchase 20 Chromebooks for the Elementary.  These Chromebooks will be stored in locked charging /storage case in the Library for checkout by the Elementary classes beginning in Fall 2016.

1ST ORDER OF RUN FOR RUSTY SHIRTS ARE IN, PLACING SECOND ORDER ON WEDNESDAY- IF YOU WOULD STILL LIKE TO ORDER ONE CALL THE SCHOOL

First order of “Run for Rusty” t-shirts are in.  Track team will be placing a second order on Wednesday if you would still like to order one let the school know. Thanks!

PANCO Track date has NOT changed. Looking for Parent volunteers to help. Golf tomorrow in Charon has been postponed to Monday, May 2nd.

Contrary to rumors going around PANCO Track at Morrill has not been changed. Meet will still take place on Friday, April 29th at 10:00 am.

Looking for Parent volunteer’s to help run the long jump and long jump timers if interested please call the school asap. Thanks!!

Golf meet scheduled to take place tomorrow in Chadron has been postponed to Monday, May 2nd with a 9 am start time.

“Give Back to Community Day”

This is the last week for businesses, groups, organizations and the elderly who are in need of  help to sign up!!  Teacher supervised groups of students are willing to wash windows, stock shelves, rake lawns , clean out flower beds and assist in any way needed.

Our “Give Back to the Community Day” is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on April 13th, 2016. If you would like to be added to our list, please call the high school office at 638-4434.
