JANUARY 24th & 25th @ Edgemont

1. Tournament will begin on Monday, January 20th @ Morrill with the two girl’s bunny bracket games hosted by the #3 seed. The boys will begin on Tuesday, January 21st @ Sioux County with two bunny bracket games hosted by the #3 seed. We will be using a bracket tournament format. (see bracket pictures below)

2. Ticket prices will be $6.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. The admission is good for the entire day only. Cheerleaders, in uniform, will be admitted free.

3. Medals will be presented to the top three teams. Presentation of the 3rd place medals will take place after the consolation game. Presentation of the 1st and 2nd place medals will take place after the championship game.

4. No passes will be accepted. (Media Only will be accepted)

5. The team listed on the top of each bracket will be considered the home team. Privileges assigned to the home and visiting teams will be the same as in all games. We ask that the home team be responsible for the official book unless other arrangements are agreed upon in advance.

PBIS Assembly

Hay Springs Public School students attended a PBIS assembly today at 10:15 AM.  At the assembly, students were asked to gather near the first letter of their names which were posted around the auditorium.  Students from Kindergarten through 12th grade were gathered in these groups and then asked to start conversations with other members of their group.  Next the students were asked to give high fives to the members of their group, and finally various activities were started which led members of the group outside of their group and into other groups.  After this community/culture building exercise, students who made the AB honor roll from each grade were recognized.  Following that, PBIS Super Passes were awarded for the 2nd Quarter to Ava McKillip, James Scherbarth, Hannah Hoos, Bailey Scherbarth, Joce Varvel, and RyLee Wolken.  The event concluded with the drawings for the Breakfast of Champions…there were 26 students drawn!  Congratulations to all Hay Springs students for an awesome 2nd quarter, let’s make the 3rd even better!

Career Development Event

FFA traveled to Scottsbluff this week. Here’s the Floriculture team at District 12 Career Development Event competition. Bailey S, Hannah H, Jaiden A, Laney S, Jazlyn S and Elissa R. Bailey received a Red ribbon.

Also, Logan D competiting in District 12 Livestock Management Career Development Event competition. Other team members were Colter M, Jett R, Bradyon B, and Blair H. The team red ribboned in Poultry and Dairy.

Toby S, August S, Clark O, and Tallon R represented Hay Springs in the Welding contest where Tallon received a Red ribbon.

Elementary Christmas Party

On Thursday, December 19th, the elementary students were excited to celebrate the end of the first semester. After lunch, Grades PK through 5th were treated to a movie party in the auditorium complete with a Christmas tree and lights while the watched The Grinch.  Merry Christmas to all of our wonderful elementary students!
