Basketball Updates

Due to low numbers, there will be no junior varsity boys or girls basketball games today(Tuesday, February 8th). Varsity Girls will tip off at 5:00. Just a reminder that it is Senior Night, so parents of the senior girls will need to line up at 4:30, and parents of senior boys will need to line up at the end of the varsity girls game. Thanks!

Parents Night Postponed

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Senior Night for girls and boys basketball has been changed to Tuesday, February 8th. Parents of the senior girls will line up at 4:30 and parents of the senior boys will need to line up after the varsity girls game at approximately 6:15. Thanks for your understanding.

Schedule Changes

-Due to low numbers, there will be no Junior Varsity girls or boys games on February 8th, against Minatare. The Varsity girls will tip off at 5:00, followed by the Varsity boys.

-On February 10th, against Crawford starting at 4:00, we will be playing two quarters of both the girls and boys JV. Varsity girls should begin around 5:00 followed by the varsity boys around 7:00.

-On February 11th, against Garden County, there will be no Junior Varsity girls basketball game, but the Junior Varsity boys will be playing two quarters with a start time of 4:00.Varsity girls are to follow with an approximate tip off time of 5:00, and Variety boys will follow.

Ground Hog Day Celebration!

The Hay Springs Public School PK-5th grades enjoyed a Ground Hog Day celebration this morning…or rather a “Hound Dog Day” celebration…with a special visitor!  After learning about the weather outlook for the next 6 weeks, the kids had some yummy treats before returning to their room.  A huge thank you to Mrs. Weyers for organizing this warm and wonderful event on such a cold day!

Basketball Schedule Changes

-On Friday, February 4th, against Hyannis there will be no Junior Varsity Girls basketball game, but there will be two quarters of boys Junior Varsity with a start time of 4:00. The Varsity girls will tip off at 5:00, followed by the boys Varsity.

-On Saturday, February 5th, at Bennett County there will be no Junior Varsity girls game, but we will be playing two quarters of boys Junior Varsity with a start time of 2:00. The Varsity girls game should start around 3:00, followed by the varsity boys.

Early Childhood Enrollment

Our Early Childhood Program is now enrolling for the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Accepting enrollment for children ages 3-5 (must be 3 by end of July)
  • Licensed with the State of Nebraska
  • Play based program with Creative Curriculum
  • Nutritious meals through school food program

Gordon-Rushville Speech Meet

Congratulations to the Hay Springs Speech Team who attended the Gordon-Rushville speech meet on Saturday, January 29th. The Oral Intrepretation of Drama (OID) consisting on Gabriel Varvel, Sam Hindman, Kaden Langford and Jaelyn Rasmussen placed 6th. The OID of Emily Nelson, Taden Tobiasson, Ashley Tobiasson, Logan DeCoste and Abbey Russell placed 5th. Abigail Russell also placed 6th in persuasive speaking. The team will compete on Saturday, February 12th at the Gering speech meet.
