Hay Springs Public School is an excellent class D2 school district 20 miles east of Chadron, NE on HWY 20. Hay Springs Public School takes pride in its academics and activities. District Golf

Here are some pictures of the Hawks at District Golf in North Platte on Monday.  Overall, it wasn’t a great day for the golfers as their score was 20 pts. over average.  No one qualified for state, but Dylan Young got a personal record and led the team with a low score of 91.

Student Schedule for Hay Springs School last day of School
Thursday, May 22nd

Elementary
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Elementary students will be taken to the park for their play day.
**This day is a play day. We are not having a competitive field day this year.
***Please note that Elementary awards will take place at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
Lunch will be sack lunch from the cafeteria.
The bus will return students to school for dismissal.

Parents are welcome to come to the park.

Dismiss at 12:00 noon

Middle School
8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
In Lister – Movie/games

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Short schedule to check out with teachers

Dismiss at 12:00 noon

High School
8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Shortened schedule to check out with teachers.

Dismiss at 10:00 a.m.

Sack lunch will be available to secondary students if desired.
Lunch balances, any fees need to be paid by checkout.
All students must bring in their computer, bag and charger to check in for the summer.

Board Meeting Postponed

Due to illness and unforeseen circumstances, Hay Springs Public Schools is postponing the May 12, 2025 School Board Meeting to a later date.

The meeting will now be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.  If you have any questions, please call the school at 638-4434.
