Post Prom Fundraiser

During the Hay Springs vs. Creek Valley basketball games this Thursday, Dec. 16th, the Post Prom group will be offering concession stand meal deals to raise money for the Post Prom party.  Have some great food and help to make a great post prom party too! The menu is as follows:

Digital Citizenship Presentation

Chadron High School will be hosting Karen Haase from KSB Law do a parent session for digital citizenship.  This presentation will be held in the auditorium of the Chadron High School at 5:15 pm on Wednesday, December 15th.  This workshop may provide some very valuable information for parents and teachers.

2021 One-Act Play District Competition

On December 1, 2021, the Hay Springs High School One Act team traveled to Creek Valley High School in Chappell for district competition. They presented the play, “This Just In” and received 4th place as a team out of 7 teams competing. Members of the cast are: Ava McKillip, Abigail Nelson, Jett Rasmussen, Emily Nelson, Sadie Hanks, Abbey Russell, Hally Johnson, Jaelyn Rasmussen, Lilly Dorshorst, Kaden Langford, Sam Hindman, Breely Smith and Aaliyah VanValkenburg. Members of the crew are: Adrianna Haffner, Brooke Winter, and Nevaeh Peters. Hay Springs received the overall technical award and six individual acting awards. The technical award recognizes the play which possesses outstanding costumes, make up, hair styling, props, set design, sound and lighting. There is not an overall best actress or best actor award given at the district level at this time, however excellent performances are recognized. Individuals receiving district awards were: Abigail Nelson, Jett Rasmussen, Emily Nelson, Sadie Hanks, Kaden Langford and Sam Hindman.

Schedule Changes

-Due to the impending forecast, there will be no Friday school tomorrow, December 10th, 2021.

-Based on the current weather pattern and the fact that we have not had any weather related lates starts, early outs, or snow days we are going to dismiss at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021.

-Also a reminder to mark your calendar for NO STUDENTS on March 28th, 2022 as we are hosting the PANCO Music Contest. Staff will be required to be at school for the entire day to assist with the contest.

PANCO JH Girls Basketball Tournament

December 13, 2021 @ Edgemont

-Tournament will begin at 9:00 am on December 13th, 2021. We will be using a bracket tournament format. This will be a single elimination tournament.

-Ticket prices will be $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. The admission is good for the entire tournament. Cheerleaders, in uniform, will be admitted free along with coaches, managers and bus drivers.

-Presentation of the 1st place plaque will take place after the championship game.

-No passes will be accepted. Coaches, players, managers, and bus drivers will be stamped upon arrival.

-There will be no entry fee for this tournament. A hospitality room will be located in the elementary band room (south gym doors) for use by coaches, bus drivers, tournament helpers, and administrators.

-Locker room assignments will be made upon arrival each team will be responsible for their own valuables.

-Officials for the tournament will be assigned by the host school.

-Starting time for the first game will be 9:00 am and will continue throughout the day with games. We will only take a short break before the championship game if one of the final teams must meet the mandatory rest time.

-The team listed on top will be considered the home team. Privileges assigned to the home and visiting teams will be the same as in any game. We ask that the home team be responsible for the official book unless other arrangements are agreed upon in advance.
