2021 NSAA State Track T-Shirts

Dear AD’s, Track Coaches, Track Athletes, and Track Fans,

The 2021 NSAA State Track & Field Championships are right around the corner.  Due to the pandemic, souvenir State Track t-shirts will not be sold at the meet.  However, you can still purchase a 2021 NSAA State Track & Field t-shirt online.  All pre-orders must be placed online before May 16th.  Shirts can be ordered by clicking on the link below.

**All shirts will be processed / packaged and given to the school’s head track coach when he/she picks up your school’s NSAA Track & Field Championship team packet at Burke High on Tuesday, May 18th or Thursday, May 20th.  Please make sure to designate your school when placing your order.**

Best of the West Information

Congratulations to our 4 Best of the West qualifiers: Chaz in long jump, Gabby in the 800, Mia in the 200 & 400, and Wes in the 3200.  Congratulations to Dylan Young and Dylan Raymer for qualifying to the Jr. High Best of the West!  We will be leaving school on Monday at 2:30 to head down.  Please see attached information concerning the meet:

2021 Scottsbluff COVID Track Protocols

Visiting Teams:
• Temperatures and symptoms must be checked before departing and documented for all team personnel
• We encourage masks outside but are not required. Athletes must be masked when not competing and within 6 feet of others.
• Bleachers are for spectators only!
• Athletes should be competing in their event, supporting their teammates at other events or in their team camp outside the stadium.
• Team Camp areas MUST be monitored by coaches and are only for athletes.
• Face coverings are encouraged to be worn by coaches at all times. Please socially distance when not wearing a mask.
• Water will not be provided
• No pre-game or post-game handshakes/high-fives/fist bumps
• Post-Meet talks with coaches/athletes should be short and socially distanced with face coverings
• Team personnel and fans are recommended to leave the area as soon as the contest is over.
• Any individual feeling ill or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 are advised to not attend
• Hand sanitizer will be available at the concessions and restroom areas.
• We will follow all NSAA Track COVID-19 Rules Modifications and Considerations.
• Concessions will be offered in two stands. Athletes and Spectators must be masked while in line.
• Coaches and Athletes are expected to be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting any implements that are shared between athletes.

Morrill Track Meet Results

On Saturday, March 27 the high school track team had their second meet in Morrill, NE. Coming out of the meet with medals were:

Wes Jacobs in the 2 mile placing 6th with a time of 12:26:11
Gage Mintken in the 110m hurdles placing 5th with a time of 19:76
Mia Skinner in the 200m dash placing 1st with a time of 28:48; 400m run placing 2nd with a time of 1:04:96
Gabby Twarling in the 800 m run placing 3rd with a time of 2:45:28
Jocey Varvel in the 100 m hurdles placing 6th with a time of 20:02, 300 low hurdles placing 4th with a time of 57:37
Gabby Twarling, Alexa Tonjes, Ava McKillip, Mia Skinner in the 4×400 meter relay placing 5th with a time of 4:48:18

We had some athletes come very close to finishing in the top six but just were shy of medaling:

In the 1 mile Wes Jacobs came in 7th with Jarhett Anderson right on his tail coming in at 8th.
Jarhett was also just shy of placing in the 2 mile; he came in 8th place.
Cadell Brunsch came in 7th in the high jump.
Charles Twarling came in 7th in the long jump.

Scratch Meeting: 8:30 AM

FIELD EVENTS: 9:00 AM

RUN EVENTS: 10:30 AM

ENTRY FEE: $150.00 per school

REGULATIONS: Each school will be allowed 3 athletes per event and a participant may enter a maximum of 4 events. Field events: 3 prelim attempts followed by 3 final attempts.

AWARDS: Medals given to the first 6 places. Team Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1

SPIKES: Maximum length 3/16 inch, NO NEEDLES.

TIMES: We will time 8 runners in each heat using Finish Lynx timing system.

FINALS: Will be determined by the winner of each heat and the next fastest times for 8 lanes.

ENTRY FORM: ONLINE ENTRY: Athletic.net

Hospitality Room: Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all coaches, bus drivers, and administration.

Hay Springs overall did great at the meet. There are some improvements we can make for our upcoming meet on Saturday in Morrill to be more successful. Overall it was a good start to the season. Listed are athletes who placed 6th or higher in their event.

Chadron State College High School Invitational Track & Field Meet

SITE:                Chadron State College – Nelson Physical Activity Center (NPAC)

TIME:              Saturday, March 20th, 2021
8:00am Coaches’ Check In – Head Table NPAC Arena
9:00am Field Events Start (see schedule)
11:00am Running Events Start (see schedule)

FACILITY:       170M, 6 Lane oval, 8 Lane straight-away 3/16 pyramid spikes allowed. Shot Put will be thrown from a concrete ring.

COVID-19:     Mask wearing is required at all times anywhere inside the Nelson Physical Activity Center. This will be STRICTLY enforced, and anyone failing to comply will be removed from the facility. Athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators will be required to wear a mask at all times and practice social distancing.

WARMUP & COMPETITION: There will be a strict schedule followed for this year’s meet. Track events will be given a 30-minute period to warmup in the indoor track facility before their event starts. Warm-up is allowed on the backstretch of the track when races are not in progress or outside.

MASKS & ATHLETES: Masks must remain on at all times unless an athlete is competing. In field events they must wear their mask in-between attempts. In track events, they can remove their masks only when called to the start line by the official.

PACKETS: Packets will be handed out at the coaches’ check-in.

SCORING: Non-scored meet.

TEAM CAMPS: Will be located in the racquetball courts and classrooms. Each team will be assigned a court at a later date. Please monitor your athletes while they are in the team camps.

ENTRIES: All entries will be done through athletic.net. Entries will be open until 7:00pm on March 19th. All of our meet information is located on our website at www.csc.edu/athletics/track, under Schedules.

ENTRY LIMITS: We will not accept more than 500 boys and 500 girls total. If the team registrations meet that cap, registration will close.

ENTRY FEE: $75 men’s team / $75 women’s team. Make check payable to CSC Track & Field. Individuals are $5 per event entered.

RESULTS: Results will be available as soon as possible after the meet. Also available on our website www.csc.edu/athletics/track
