Congratulations to Adeline Fredrickson, who placed first in entertainment speaking at the Bearcats novice meet on Saturday, Jan 10!

Congratulations to Aubry Anderson for placing 5th in POI (Program of Oral Interpretation) at the State Speech Meet held at Kearney High on Friday, March 28th.

Congratulations to the Hay Springs Speech team for being the District Runner up!

The following students placed in their events. If they placed within the top 3 they are state bound! State speech is Friday, March 28th at Kearney high school.

Duet – 1st place (Bailey and Emma)
Lilly – 1st entertainment; 3rd humorous
Adeline – 3rd entertainment; 5th serious
Aubry – 6th serious; 1st POI
Jaelyn – 2nd informative
Jacob – 2nd humorous
OID – 2nd place (Jacob, Jaelyn, Emma and Bailey)

Which means all 7 students are headed to state in 8 of their 10 categories!

Please plan to join us for an afternoon of entertainment at our Speech Showcase on Sunday, March 16 in the Hay Springs Public School cafeteria at 3pm. See what these students have been working for the season as they prepare for their District competition held in Sidney on Monday, March 18.

The Hawk Speech Team had a big day out on Wednesday, February 13th. We actually competed in two separate speech meets at the same time, you will see results from two meets that ran consecutively, the small schools meet (where all schools attending, they ran 2 conference meets at the same time, competed against each other) and then the PANCO conference results. These students have been working extremely hard (and have more hard work to do in the weeks ahead!) Please congratulate them in all their efforts.

The Hawk Speech Team has a few weeks off of competition and will pick up on March 1st at Gering; March 8th at Mitchell; March 16-Speech Showcase (open to the public) @ 3pm in the cafeteria; March 17th-Districts @ Sidney.
