Elementary, Middle School, and High School Competition

Build a holiday tree or other Christmas sculpture with canned goods brought in from students. All canned goods will be delivered to the elementary, but please keep them in separate groups(elementary, middle school, and high school).

Groups will have 5th hour on December 13th to work on their sculptures. ML/HS Teachers please come to the cafeteria at 1:00 on the 13th to help with the sculptures. ALL sculptures need to be completed by 3:00 pm on December 14th. (Elementary it is your choice on when you would like to work on yours.) Winner and prize will be announced on December 14th at 3:30 pm. Get students involved, get creative and have fun! (There are a lot of ideas on Pinterest!)

Connecting The Dots

On Tuesday, Nov. 8th, Hay Springs Freshmen and Sophomores attended the Connecting the Dots event hosted by Gordon High School and led by our local Nebraska 4-H extension office. Connecting the Dots is an interactive career exploration program designed to help 9th and 10th grade students learn more about careers of interest. Through the experience, participants learn how to “connect the dots” from early high school through post-secondary education and training to the workplace. Students were joined by local employers and employees who shared their advice for how to find successful and rewarding careers in the future.

On January 25th, Hay Springs Public School students traveled to Chadron to compete in the sixth annual “Best of the West Business Invitational” sponsored by CSC and the Nebraska Council on Economic Education. We had 19 students competing in the event.
