Video Production Class PSA Contest

The Hay Springs Video Production Class has made a Public Service Announcement video and entered it into the Nebraska “Click It, Don’t Risk It PSA Video Contest.” We are asking you to get on Twitter and YouTube to vote on our entry. This contest is a great opportunity for Nebraska high school students to create a :30 second public service announcement (PSA) to creatively express their views on seat belts and why they are important.  Four winners will be chosen, one from each class (Class A, B,C,D) – each winner will receive $2,000, and their PSA will run at a local movie theater in or near its community!  So, go to YouTube and “Like” our video, use the #CIDRI2015 and the #HSHSVideo hashtags on Twitter, and be sure to like and share this post on Facebook.

Elementary HAL Presentations

In September elementary HAL(High Ability Learners) students were challenged to discover or investigate one of their passions and then reflect and share their learning with others. This idea, adapted from the search-engine, Google, promotes the thinking that if you allow people to work on something that interests them, productivity will increase. Students needed to make their project “Product Focused”, meaning at the end of the semester, they had to have made something that was a completed product. Throughout the first semester, students diligently worked on their Passion Projects. The students all did an amazing job, and I am so proud of each of them. On January 20th, students presented their finished products to their families.
