First Quarter Assembly

WHAT A GREAT DAY CELEBRATING OUR HAWKS!

On Monday, October 19, Hay Springs faculty and administration brought our PK–12 Hawks together to celebrate an incredible first quarter!

We kicked things off in mixed PK–12 small groups, where our older Hawk leaders helped lead some fun “Would You Rather?” questions and activities. Then the students battled in a VERY competitive schoolwide Rock, Paper, Scissors battle, with first grader, Baylen, emerging as our CHAMPION! 🪨📄✂️🏆

Then it was time to recognize all of the GREAT things our students accomplished during Quarter 1!

⭐ Perfect Attendance: recognizing students who were here and ready to learn all quarter! In the first quarter there were 37 students who received recognition.

🐎 Quarter 1 Horse Race Champions: Our 6-8 grade classes and 9-12 high school classes battled throughout the quarter to see which class could combine the best attendance percentage AND passing grade percentage. Results were tabulated each week and tracked in the conference room. Congratulations to our 8th and 11th graders for taking the Quarter 1 titles! 🏆

🎟️ Super Pass Winners: Students earned a Super Pass by finishing the quarter with:
• Zero phone infractions
• Zero office referrals
• No more than two tardies
• Zero academic ineligibilities
There were 7 middle level students and 19 high school students who received passes.

📚 A and A/B Honor Roll: celebrating the hard work and academic achievement of our Hawks! 3rd through 12th grade is recognized for their honor roll achievements.

💵 Caught Being Good Chamber Bucks Drawing: Throughout the quarter, students in elementary, middle school, and high school received “Caught Being Good” tickets when staff noticed them “S.O.A.R.ing” and doing something positive. Tickets were entered into our Quarter 1 drawing for Chamber Bucks!
And the best part? Those tickets aren’t finished yet! Every ticket earned throughout the year will go back into the drawing for an even bigger end-of-the-year celebration! 🎉

🍽️ One more surprise is still coming! Our National Honor Society students will draw the names of 10 additional elementary students who will get to enjoy a special lunch with NHS members!

Days like this are about more than awards. They are about celebrating showing up, working hard, making good choices, being kind, and being part of something bigger than ourselves.

We are incredibly proud of our Hawks and loved having the opportunity to celebrate so many students from PK through 12th grade!

Keep SOARing, Hawks!
