The State Wrestling Pep Rally will happen today at 1pm in the Old Auditorium. Send off with the Fire Department will happen tomorrow morning, Wednesday February 19th if front of the highschool at 8am. Come out and support Stevin, Joey, Chris and Levi!
Google Apps for Education, who provides our cloud services, has decided to change the way users log into their email and drive accounts. In the past, we used only the first part of our email address(our name) for the “email” portion of the login. Now, we must use our full email addresses to log in. For example, if your name is Joe Rock you previously used “joe.rock” and your password to log in, you must now use “joe.rock@hshawks.com” and your password to log in. Again, the difference being that we must now use our FULL EMAIL ADDRESS as our “email”. Please contact me if you are unable to log in.
During the February school board meeting, after much discussion, the board approved the school calendar for the 2014-2015 school year. The approved calendar is similar to the current calendar and reflects the same number of instructional days.
The Board of Education appreciates the comments received from the community, staff, students and parents. While it was impossible to accommodate every request or suggestion, the calendar does support our mission of a simple calendar and a schedule that reflects what’s bestfor student learning.

Basic Information :
The preschool classes will be having a Valentine’s Day Fun Night on Monday, February 10th from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. This will be a casual fun night filled with stations for the students to rotate through as they please. Stations will range from craft projects to leisure book reading. With the help of Mrs. Varvel the students will also be perfoming a few songs for family members. All preschool family members and friends are invited to join in the fun!
Due to not knowing what the weather will be like we have gone ahead and cancelled guitar class for tonight 2/5 and guitar class for tomorrow morning 2/6. Any questions please call the school at 638-4434.
Due to the extreme cold temperatures and wind chill, Hay Springs Public School will have a two hour late start on Monday, February 5th, 2014. School will start at 10:00 AM, with middle school and high school students attending their first period class at that time. Sixth and seventh period classes will not be held today. Stay tuned for further announcements.
The elementary and secondary ASP, all sports practices for Basketball and Wrestling has been cancelled tonight due to weather. There will also be no second bus route. Students are to go immediately home. Teachers need to go home after students leave.
All Wednesday morning practices are cancelled also.
If you have not picked up your child’s report card they will be sent home with your child by the end of the week. Please ask them for it. Thanks!
