Hay Springs will be hosting Gordon-Rushville for a Boys Varsity Wrestling Dual Thursday, Jan. 8. Weigh-ins at 5:00 PM with matches starting at 6:00 PM. It will also be Senior Boys and Girls Parent’s night, so please make sure to attend this event and show our wrestling teams some support! Oregon Trail Honor Band

4 Hay Springs students attended the Oregon Trail Honor Band on Monday, January 5th held at Bridgeport High School. The honor band is sponsored by Doane University and was directed by the Doane director of bands, Dr. Andy Feyes. Those students attending were: Emma Albrecht-clarinet, Parker Wellnitz-alto sax, Mason Albrect-tenor sax, and Jacob Dorshorst-trumpet.

Mr. Bounous’s 6th Grade World Geography class enjoyed some Poutine, the National Dish of Canada, after learning about our northern neighbor. French fries, cheese curds, and gravy are the traditional ingredients in poutine, which was invented in Quebec, Canada.

Equation Christmas Trees

The Algebra 1 class just finished a Unit on Linear and Nonlinear Functions where they learned how to graph linear and absolute value functions and the effects of transformations on the graphs of those functions. Using this new knowledge, they used Desmos graphing calculator to write their own equations to create a Christmas Tree. Merry Christmas from the Algebra 1 class!
