The Hay Springs Once Act team will be participating in the D1-6 District competition on Tuesday, December 1st at Creek Valley High School in Chappell. The team was originally supposed to perform at 4:30. However, due to a team having to remove themselves from the competition; the team will now be performing at 1:30. Leave time is scheduled to be about 10:00. Once the team receives their critiques they will be leaving to come back to Hay Springs, about 2:30. Good Luck Hawks!

Enrollment is open
4-H enrollment for the 2020-2021 4-H year is now open. Youth can enroll by visiting ne.4honline.com. Members need to enroll prior to participating in Shooting Sports practices. There is a $5 membership fee that can be paid online or at the Extension Office. If you will not be in Rushville, feel free to mail the payment to the 4-H Council at PO Box 23 Rushville, NE 69360.

Holiday Kits

Clover Buds
December 4th 10-11 am – Zoom. Register for this meeting by calling the office at 308-327-2312. Clover Bud members are youth between the ages of 5 and 7 as of January 1st, 2021. These youth will experience teamwork, social interaction, and decision-making skills while participating in hands on activities. Upon participating in these workshops, youth will have Clover Bud projects to display at the 2021 Sheridan County Fair.

Sewing at the Extension Office has been canceled for December due to COVID recommendations.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Elementary’s School Store Fundraiser. We were completely overwhelmed with the generosity of our community. Students were asked to share the fundraising information with family and friends via email. Anyone wanting to participate in the fundraiser could purchase items, magazines, or make a monetary donation to a specific classroom. Here are a few snapshots of some of the items we were able to purchase for our students to use in our classrooms.

PanCo One Act Play Information

The Hay Springs One Act team will be participating in the Panhandle Conference One Act competition on Friday, November 20th in Hemingford. Because of Covid-19 restrictions, only judges and coaches will only be allowed to watch the play. Unfortunately, because of copyright laws streaming will not be available. Hay Springs will be performing at 10:00 am. Leave from the school will be at 8:10 am.  The team will be returning after receiving their critique. The return time will be around noon.

Due to the increase in positive cases of COVID in our panhandle area and Sheridan County, I want to remind you that we are requiring the wearing of masks PreK – 12th Grade at Hay Springs School. Also remember to monitor your student’s temperature/health and if they are ill keep them home. We continue to encourage students to practice good hand washing and sanitization. FFA Greenhand and Chapter Degree Ceremonies

Dear FFA Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pleasure I invite you to join us on Tuesday evening at the Hay Springs School Auditorium for our chapter Greenhand and Chapter Degree Ceremonies at 7:30 pm. Since we were not able to conduct any of our end of the year activities we will be awarding the Greenhand Degrees to twenty-five chapter members. We will also be recognizing those individual students who received district and state level awards during the 2019-20 school year. We will also be presenting Chapter Degrees to fourteen of our chapter members. We will also be recognizing the officer team that served our chapter last year, in our first year of reinstatement, as well as those individuals that have offered their support over the past year. Our final ceremonies for the evening will be the installation of the 2020-21 Chapter officers.

Due to the risk of COVID, we will be limiting our attendance to only the families of our FFA members. We will however be live streaming this event which hopefully will allow for other supporters of our program to observe these ceremonies.  The live stream will be available for viewing at the following address:
