Oregon Trail Honor Band
Abigail Russell, Sam Hindman, and Gabriel Varvel, Hay Springs students, attended Oregon trail honor band hosted by Doane University on Monday, January 10th at Bridgeport high school. Dr. Jay Gilbert, band professor at Doane University, conducted the band for his 15th year.
The Night, The Lights, and The Music 2021!
The Junior High(7th & 8th grade) Band & Choir as well as the High School Band & Choir will perform on Friday evening December 17th at 7:00 PM in the auditorium following the Santa Soup Cook-off. Hope to see you there!
Afternoon of Music
On Sunday, November 21st the high school choir traveled to St Peters Lutheran Church on Mirage Flats, where they participated in an Afternoon of Music with several other performers. It was a wonderful afternoon of thanksgiving and enjoying each other’s musical talents! Thank you for the invitation (and the offering collected for our trip! We are overwhelmed with your generosity!)
Fall Festival of Winds
Three Hay Springs band students traveled to Doane University for an honor band called Fall Festival of Winds. Gabe Varvel, Sam Hindman, and Abbey Russell rehearsed all day on Saturday with a concert Saturday evening.
PANCO Band Clinic
Hay Springs hosted the PANCO band clinic on Wednesday, November 3rd. There were almost 60 students from 4 of the PANCO schools-Hay Springs, Hemingford, Morrill and Sioux County. After a day of rehearsing, there was a concert at 3pm. It was a fun day of getting together and making beautiful music!
Music Trip Fundraiser
The Hay Springs high school music students are selling HAWK slides & clogs as a fundraiser for their trip to Omaha in the spring. You can purchase them by scanning the QR code or you could use this link. Hurry, because the store closes Thursday, the 11th at midnight! These items will be delivered in time for Christmas, so do your shopping early!

Choir Visitor
The high school choir had a visit on Tuesday, November 2nd from the Chadron State College voice professor, Dr. Joel Schrauder. He spent time listening to the group and then sharing his knowledge on how to improve. It was a great time! Thanks to Dr. Schrauder for taking the time to come to Hay Springs!
