Congratulations to Abigail Russell and Abigail Nelson for being selected for the High Plains Honor Band at Chadron State College on Monday, February 5th and Tuesday, February 6th with a final concert held on Tuesday, February 6th at 5pm in Memorial Hall Auditorium. Congratulations ladies!
On Wednesday, November 1st, the Hay Springs High School Band participated in the PANCO Band Clinic held at the WNCC campus with Dr. Nat Johnson as the conductor. Five PANCO schools came together and made a large band, rehearsed 3 songs throughout the day and then put on a concert at 3 PM.
On Wednesday, October 11th, five men from Hay Springs high school choir attended CSC Men’s Choir Day. These gentlemen spent the day learning 4 songs with other male singers from around the area and then put on an informal concert at 2:30.
The Hay Springs high school band spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Chadron State College playing for the football game with the CSC Eagle Band.
Hay Springs had an amazing day in Alliance at District Music Contest on Wednesday, April 19th. Here are the results of the students’ performances. I=Superior; II=Excellent (ratings can go to a V). If you see these students, congratulate them on their performances!

Hay Springs won PANCO Music Champs! Please congratulate these students on all their hard work! Big congratulations to Kaden Langford who won Outstanding Men’s Solo and the Hay Springs Concert Choir for winning Outstanding Large Vocal Ensemble.
Congratulations to Abby Nelson and Bo Thies for participating in Class D All State Band held at UNK in Kearney. Students rehearsed all day on Saturday, March 18th and performed a concert Saturday evening.
Congratulations to Kaden Langford and Abigail Russell who were selected for High Plains Honor Band and Choir held at Chadron State College on Monday, February 6th and Tuesday, February 7th. Kaden participated in the choir and Abby played the flute in the band.
Oregon Trail Honor Band was an “Abbey” kind of day this year. On Monday, January 9th, Abbey Russell(flute), Gabby Twarling(clarinet), and Abby Nelson(trumpet) attended the Oregon Trail Honor Band hosted by Doane University in Bridgeport. The students rehearsed all day and then performed a concert that evening.
Congratulations to Kaden Langford for being selected to High Plains Honor Choir and Abigail Russell for being selected to High Plains Honor Band. The Band & Choir will be held at Chadron State College on Monday, February 6th & Tuesday, February 7th. There will be a concert that is open to the public, held in Memorial Hall on Tuesday, February 7th at 5pm.
