Last week, the Nebraska Department of Education lifted the embargo on information on state accountability ratings. Congratulations to everyone in our district who has and is leading and educating our students. We are very pleased to announce that our schools have rated very well! Here are the links to our school’s results:

Hay Springs Elementary is rated – Excellent
Hay Springs Middle School is rated – Great
Hay Springs High School is rated – Excellent
Hay Springs District is rated – Great

We will continue to do the right work with the goal of the best possible education for all students and support our teachers and leaders in their daily work!

STEM Fair

Please plan to attend the STEM Fair this Sunday, November 20th in the Lister Sage building from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM.  In addition to the free-will-donation pulled pork meal, there will be numerous activities such as a Lego station, a coloring contest, a building competition, and many fun science experiments!  Bring the whole family and enjoy an evening of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math!

Veterans Pictures Needed

The Americanism Committee would like to invite all Veterans or families of veterans to submit a picture of themselves or a loved one they would like to honor. The pictures will be on display before the Veteran’s Day program on November, 10th. If you have a scanned picture you may e-mail it to brad.bounous@hshawks.com or if you have a photo you would like to be scanned please feel free to stop by the office so someone can scan it for you.  Please include the name and branch of service. 

Early Dismissal

Just a reminder:

Due to several scheduled activities and a substitute teacher shortage, Hay Springs Schools is dismissing school at 1pm on Thursday, October 13th. This is the last day of the quarter so students need to be in school. Middle and High School students will be attending all classes on a shortened schedule. Lunch will be served and route bus will run accordingly. Thank you for your understanding.
