SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM GOING STRONG THROUGH JULY 26, 2018
Children 18 and under eat breakfast and lunch for free!!!!

All New Students:
Please turn in required new student registration paperwork to the school office as soon as possible.
For students entering Kindergarten please have your Kindergarten physical, eye exam form, immunization record, and copies of your social security card and birth certificate.
Other reminders:
For students entering 7th grade, I will need updated immunizations and a physical if you haven’t done one already.
This year the Journalism class has been using the Treering program to build the yearbook. To purchase a yearbook, buyers must go to www.treering.com, there they are given two pages in which they create and personlize themselves, we are adding a night to help those interested in ordering. . Yearbook staff will be on hand to assest parents and students in creating their pages and ordering thier personalized yearbooks. Please be sure to have the photos you want to have on you 2 personalized pages in digital format, on a CD, SD card etc. Photos must be in jpeg format and sized at 300 dpi. If you wish to order on your own contact Mrs. Shimek to the code to personalize your book. (robin.shimek@hshawks.com)
Entries for the 2018 year-end talent show are due on Monday, May 14th. Entries can be picked up from any teacher or picked up outside Mrs. Varvel’s room.
The Excellence in Teaching Award is sponsored by Security First Bank along with the American Legion. This award seeks to encourage and recognize the professional and leadership excellence of Hay Springs educators essential for quality education, increase awareness of the positive aspects of education in Nebraska, and promote pride in the school and community. Use the form below to nominate a teacher.
The 2018 Elders’ Wisdom program will be taking place at 6:30 PM on Thursday, March 29th in the Hay Springs High School auditorium. The honorees this year are Lloyd and Mary Ann Hunzeker, so please plan on attending this wonderful event! Coffee and dessert will follow the program in the cafeteria.
The Book Fair is Here and Open. Stop by after school and all evening on Thursday, March 15th. The fair will be open until Tuesday, March 20th. If you are looking for more diversity check out the online store. More books for all ages. Books ordered online are sent free of charge to the school. Click here to check it out.
Our Team competed in Sidney, NE on January 20th with 16 other teams who battled the clock while remembering Gracious Professionalism. Seven of those 16 teams were successful. Our Team was invited to join other teams at The Nebraska Robotics Expo February, 17th, 2018 at the Strategic Air Command Aerospace Museum in Ashland, NE. We will be working the concessions stand this coming Tuesday, January 30th, at the basketball games beginning at 3:00 PM to defray the cost of our trip.
