DonorsChoose, the most trusted crowdfunding platform for teachers, donors, and district administrators, awarded Hay Springs High School English teacher Heidi Beguin, almost $2000 in a flexible seating campaign she created in early August. “I wanted to try to find funds for flexible seating, in my classroom, without putting a financial strain on the school. I created a project a few years ago, through DonorsChoose, that was fully funded and my hope was that this one would be too.” After she publicized the project on her personal Facebook page, and received a couple local donations (big thank you to Lisa Merritt and Malinda Smith), one other anonymous donor came forward to fully fund the project. “My classroom will soon be outfitted with six tall tables, each with two stools, giving twelve students the option to stand or at least sit in something other than the desks they sit in during most every class. Our kids sit a lot of the day, so I’m excited to be able to offer some other options for them.” Before and after photos will be posted to our school’s Facebook soon.

Hay Springs Public School is offering a house for sale located at 342 North Baker Street. If you would like to look at the house, please contact the school at 308-638-4434 during regular school hours (Mon-Thurs from 8:00am-5:00pm). The Board of Education will be accepting sealed bids at the July 13th Board of Education Meeting. Bids should be delivered to the Hay Springs School office prior to 4:30 on July 13th 2020. The Board reserves the right to accept or deny any or all bids.

Athletic Physical Day - Indian Lake Schools

Physicals from the 2019-2020 school year will be acceptable for the 2020-2021 season. This will be a one-year exemption only and does not include incoming freshmen or 7th graders. Also not included in the exemption will be the incoming 6th grade girls who plan on participating in Junior High sports. All other high school students entering grades 10, 11, and 12 who have physicals on file at Hay Springs High School are set for the upcoming seasons.  If you have any questions please call the school at 638-4434.

End of School (May 5th) – Information

Tomorrow, April 28th is the last week assignments will be delivered to students.  All student work/assignments must be turned in electronically or into the garage on May 5th by 12:00 pm.  No credit will be given to assignments turned in after 12:00 pm.  The “To Go” lunch program also will have its last day tomorrow, April 28th.

Check – out slips for 3rd – 5th grade will be in the garage tomorrow along with the last of the student’s assignments.  6th grade – 12th grade students have received an email with their designated date, time and check – out slip. Please try and stay on time during check – out so no over lapping occurs.  Please come to the Auditorium to check – out.

Expected to bring during check – out:

  • All text books
  • Library Books
  • District Technology (computers, cases, chargers, calculators, etc.)
  • Music instruments and equipment
  • Any fines or fees that one may have
