FBLA News

The month of April was a busy one for Hay Springs FBLA; the first week in April we attended the State Leadership Conference which is State for FBLA. We took six members to Omaha where we competed; it was definitely a learning experience for our students. They all learned a few new things and enjoyed themselves, along with making some new friends.

The Hay Springs High School Personal Finance class, Intro to Business, and Accounting participated in the Personal Finance Challenge and took first place in our region. This allowed the students to move onto the next level of competition which took place in Kearney. There, the students competed against five teams and unfortunately we did not finish in the top three. We gained a great deal of insight for next year’s competition.

FBLA Best In The West

Yesterday the Hay Springs chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) participated in the Best in the West Business Invitational in Chadron. We took four students to this event we had two students place: Jarret Pieper got first place in Economics and Erin Kadlecek got fifth in Accounting 1.  The other two students that participated were Ashley Burrows and Hannah Wohl.  This is a testing event designed to prepare students for the State competition in Omaha in April. We will be attending another event to help prepare us for the state competition the next one is in March in Kearney.  If you would like to donate any funds to help us get the last two events of our season, please feel free to contact Ms. Lein at the school.
