“Socks for Seniors”

Student council, in conjunction with KSDZ is sponsoring a “Socks for Seniors” sock drive.  Please help out and donate a pair of new socks (men’s or women’s).  The socks collected will be taken to our (Hay Springs) nursing home for distribution to anyone who needs socks. There are boxes set up here at the school, the bank, and Sackers.  Please, talk with your folks and help us help the seniors to keep their feet warm this winter!

Family Hour of Code, Tuesday, Dec. 8

Hay Springs School will be holding a Family Hour of Code on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 7 pm until 8 pm in the Main Floor Computer Lab.  This is a time for families to discover what their students are discovering.   There will be activities for all ages, both online and offline.

Hour of Code events are held during Computer Science Education Week.  During this week over 78,000 Hour of Code events will be held around the world.  Coding is accessible for everyone.  Students will be enjoying various coding activities during the week. Tuesday evening is a time for the rest of the family to see what it is all about. In addition to activities for all ages, we have also asked the Robotics group to setup and demonstrate their robots.

REMIND Parent/Student Notices

The office will be sending a TEST text message on remind 101 tomorrow, November 5th at 11:30 am to make sure everyone’s messages are working properly, if you don’t get one and usually do you will need to sign up again. This is just to make sure everyone is prepared for the winter season.

VETERANS’ DAY PROGRAM, NOVEMBER 11TH

Hay Springs Public Schools will be hosting their annual Veterans Day program on Wednesday November 11, 2015 in the old auditorium at the high school at 10:00 AM. This year there will be two honored veterans presenting. Chris Baer and Courtney Horack; both of whom are current Nebraska State Patrol officers will give a presentation on their experiences serving in the United States military. The Hay Springs High School band and chorus will also perform patriotic music. The public is invited to attend to celebrate and honor our veterans on this ceremonious day.
