Kindergarten Halloween

Kindergarten had a busy Halloween week. First, we were construction workers pounding golf tees into pumpkins and then adding rubber bands to finish them off. Next, we constructed houses for ghosts using blocks. Then,we became engineers that made ghost houses out of toothpicks and candy pumpkins.

Fire Station Visit

3-5 grade attended the local Fire Station during Fire Safety week. Craig Housh and Matt Anderson took the students on a tour of the fire hall, explained how the equipment worked, and what to do in case of a fire or emergency. Remember to check your fire alarms for Fire Safety month!

Bird Banding Field Trip

4th grade attended a wonderful field trip hosted by the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. We took a bus to Chadron State Park and met up with Chaley Jensen, the Nebraska Wildlife Education Coordinator. Chaley and her assistant took us for a walk showing the students how to net birds, how to use binoculars, and then how they process, band, and release the birds. This was an extremely informative trip and was enjoyable for all. The 4th grade received a grant to help us learn and build an ecosystem that is friendly to our community and will help beautify our school. We are looking forward to working with Chaley in the future!
