Youth Basketball this weekend has been cancelled.
Youth Basketball in Chadron this weekend 12/17 has been cancelled due to the forecast of very cold, snowy weather.

Practices for tonight have been cancelled! JH girls basketball game for today has been postponed AGAIN! We will let you know when it will be rescheduled. Buses will run at 4:00 pm sharp. Roads are slippery and will get worse as the sun goes down. Drive safe!
School Wide Food Drive – November 28 through December 13. Start Saving Now!!
School Wide Food Drive
This year, let’s work together to have a successful food drive.
Want some free time in class?
If Kindergarten through 12th grade collects 1500 items for the food drive, every class will get 30 minutes of free time in one of their classes.
If Kindergarten through 12th grade collects 2000 items for the food drive, every class will get 1 hour of free time.
Collect 2500, you get another half hour. Collect 3000, another half hour. Classes can receive up to two hours of free time!
Rules:
No expired items will be accepted, (check those expiration dates!)
A case of Ramen Noodles counts as one item
Diapers count as two items!
Items need to be deposited in the boxes in the cafeteria
The food pantry is asking for non-perishable food items, personal Hygiene (i.e. soap, shampoo, toothpaste/brushes, etc.), condiments (i.e. mustard, mayo, etc.), diapers, sugar, cooking oil, dry milk, and paper goods (i.e. Paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, etc.) Thank you!

Hawk Football Hoodies for Sale until Monday (9/19) at Noon
The Hawk Football team hoodies are such a hit that they have opened up sales to everyone. You can contact Drew Letcher (one of the team captains) or the school office to place your order. All orders and money are due Monday, September 19th by noon. Hoodies are black with gray lining and a white and green graphic as pictured below.

4 – H Entrepreneurship Camp next Monday 6/26 and Tuesday 6/28
As of right now we have only 1 student registered for the Entrepreneurship camp hosted by 4-H on Monday 6/27 and Tuesday 6/28. This camp will run both morning and afternoon those days. The cost of this camp is $10 for grades 5-12.
Campers will create a business plan, learn how their strengths play into their business, and work with a banker to apply for a loan.
If we do not have at least 5 campers on Thursday the camp will be canceled.

The Division of Behavioral Health is launching a broad needs assessment to solicit input from providers, families and other stakeholders regarding the current behavioral health system. Below is the press release, including the link to the survey.

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Behavioral Health is collaborating with the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health for a survey designed to help provide Nebraskans with the most effective and timely service.
The survey seeks input from individuals who are currently or have received behavioral health services in Nebraska and their families, behavioral health providers and other professionals who have working knowledge of the behavioral health system in Nebraska and the general population across the state.

It is the result of a collaboration of DHHS’ Division of Behavioral Health and the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Public Health. “The input of concerned Nebraskans is essential to help shape the state’s behavioral health system,” Phillips said. “The results of this survey will be combined with other information gathered as part of a statewide behavioral health needs assessment, and used to plan and improve services provided to Nebraskans diagnosed with serious mental illness or substance use disorder.” “In any of these roles you may fill, your voice is an important part of this effort to effectively assess behavioral health needs across the state,” added Sheri Dawson, director of the Division on Behavioral Health. “Please consider sharing your thoughts by completing our brief survey.” The survey inquires about such topics as timely fulfillment of services, availability of specialized treatment such as that for substance use, and any populations (including older adults, the deaf, Hispanic-Americans and African-Americans) being underserved by the current system. Responses to the needs assessment survey will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used to help assess and improve behavioral health services in Nebraska, noted Dawson.
