Board Meeting Postponed

Due to illness and unforeseen circumstances, Hay Springs Public Schools is postponing the May 12, 2025 School Board Meeting to a later date.

The meeting will now be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.  If you have any questions, please call the school at 638-4434.

Meeting Notice

On May 19, 2025 at 3:30 p.m., a meeting conducted by Sheridan County School District #3 will take place in the Hawks Nest at Hay Springs High School. The purpose of the meeting will be to provide an opportunity for parents and representatives of non-public schools to participate in the development of a plan for providing special education services to children with disabilities who attend non-public schools and home schools which are within the Sheridan County District #3 for the 2024-2025 school year.  Parents of a home-schooled child identified with a disability and attending a non-public school within the boundaries of Sheridan County School District #3, are urged to attend. Upcoming Events

-The 2025 Prom will be held in the auditorium on May 3rd. The Grand March will be held in the auditorium beginning at 8:30. The doors will open to the public at 8:15 p.m. to attend the Grand March and parent dance ONLY. All public, including parents, are asked to leave immediately following the parent dance so that the students can enjoy spending the evening with their classmates and friends.

-Due to Spring sports scheduling, we have changed the dates of the awards ceremonies.  The new dates and times are as follows:
May 5th – Middle School Awards (Academic and Extra-Curricular) @ 3:15 in Auditorium
May 6th – High School Awards (Academic and Extra-Curricular) @ 6:30 in Auditorium

Weather Announcements

-Due to impending weather Parent Teacher Conferences have been canceled for tonight(March 6) and will not be rescheduled. If you have any concerns please reach out to teachers to schedule a meeting time. Thank you and stay safe!

Schedule Change on Thursday, March 6, 2025

Hay Springs School is changing the normally scheduled day on March 6th to an early release day. The school is holding Parent/Teacher conferences that afternoon and we need to provide adequate times for our parents and teachers to meet that day.

Students will attend school from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Elementary students will be served regular lunch at 11:15 a.m., middle and high school students will be able to get a grab-and-go lunch if they desire.

Teachers will be scheduling a 30 minute dinner break during the Parent/Teacher conferences. Each teacher will post the time they will be out of the classroom on their door. Thank you for your understanding, if you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Digmann or Mr. Clear.

School Canceled On Monday, January 20, 2025

Hay Springs Public School is canceling school on Monday, January 20, 2025.  Wind chills are predicted to stay at -24 degrees throughout the day.  There will be a 10:00 AM late start on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.  All activities are canceled on Monday and there will be no practice.  Please be safe!

Building Entry Reminder

To help ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff, Hay Springs Public Schools would like to remind all community members of the Board of Education Policy 903.02, which states, “During regular school hours, flow of traffic into and out of buildings shall be closely monitored and limited to certain doors. Visitors shall be required to check in to show proper identification and reason for being at the school and shall wear name tags identifying them as visitors.”

All entry into Hay Springs Public Schools shall be through the Main Door. This includes visitors, parents, staff, and students. Visitors must check in at the office and receive a badge before being allowed to proceed further into the building.

Candy Cane Sales

Hay Springs Student Council will be selling candy canes after school until Christmas Break. They will be selling to elementary students at 4:00 PM by the office and then to middle school/high school students at 4:15 PM from Mrs. Deines’s room.

There are two options for candy cane purchases. Students can purchase to take with them immediately or send a gram to a friend. Parents may also come in to purchase or if unable to come into the school please communicate with Mrs. Marcy or Mrs. Deines to set something up.

Cost: 1 candy cane for $1 or 3 candy canes for $2.

On Tuesday, December 10th, candy cane sales will happen down in Lister at the basketball games.

Candy cane grams will be delivered on Tuesdays and Thursdays to the appropriate classrooms and handed out at the end of the day.

NSCAS Results and AQuESTT Classifications

The state released NSCAS results and AQuESTT classifications last week. I am pleased to report that all Hay Springs schools and the district earned the classification of Great.
