The Third Grade classroom is excited to announce that Willow Frink received a certificate for third place in the local Upper Niobrara White Natural Resources District’s 2021 Local Poster Contest. This year’s theme was titled “Healthy Forests Healthy Communities”. Congratulations Willow!
Kindergarten and First Grade have been studying animals in many different subject areas including reading, science, and art. Recently they learned how to draw different animals. This week they learned how to draw a cow. To support FFA week(Feb. 22-29, 2020) their latest projects are displayed in the cafeteria. Be sure to stop by and browse their artwork!
The elementary students participated in the EnvironArt program on February 19th. This is a unique program that combines the expertise of an artist and a naturalist to bring science and art together. After learning about the importance of waterfowl and their habitats from the naturalist, the artist guides students in creating a realistic drawing of a North American duck, goose, or swan. Students will finalize their drawings in the coming weeks, and we will submit them to the US Fish & Wildlife Service Junior Duck Stamp Contest. All entries help to raise money for waterfowl wetland conservation.
