Hay Springs Public Schools has received notice of a $96,266.27 award through the Rural Health Transformation Program: School Kitchen Modernization Grant!
The investment in kitchen equipment will help us transform what is possible in our school and continue moving toward more fresh, scratch- and semi-scratch-prepared meals for our students.
What does that mean for our Hawks? More meals prepared right here at school using whole and minimally processed ingredients, greater opportunities to serve locally and regionally raised Nebraska beef, pork, and other proteins, more fresh foods, and less reliance on heat-and-serve products.
We live in the heart of an incredible agricultural community, and we are excited to continue building connections between the food raised around us and the meals served to our students.
