Junior High Girls Basketball – Updated

Junior High Girls Basketball began practice on October, 21st. The team consists of twelve girls from grades 6th through 8th. Three of them will be returning players from last year, so we will have a young team. The girls ended their last season with a 9-1 record, and were crowned Panhandle Conference Champions! The girls will once again be coached by Ron Olson and Linda Kudrna. The season opener will be at home on November 9th at 10:00 am against Sioux County. We are all looking forward to another great season!

Hay Springs Basketball Fundamentals Camp

Hay Springs High School girls’ basketball coaches and team members will be hosting a youth basketball camp on Friday, March 1st.  Camp times will be as follows:

Grades 3rd – 5th 8:00 am to 10:00 am

Grades 6th – 8th 10:00 am to noon

Campers will receive instruction in all the fundamentals of the game: shooting, dribbling, passing, defense and rebounding. Campers will participate in drills, games and contests with campers of their own age.

Please return the registration form at the bottom of this letter and the camp fee of $20.00 for individual campers or $30.00 for family to the office at HSH. Please make checks payable to HSH Girls Basketball.

J.H. BOYS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
JANUARY, 28th 2019
INFORMATION SHEET

1. Tournament will begin at 9:00 AM on Monday, January 28th.  We will be using a bracket format for the tournament.  There will be a total of 6 games.  Once you lose, you are out.
2. Ticket prices will be $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.  The admission is good for the entire tournament.  Cheerleaders, in uniform, will be admitted free.
3. Please return a tournament roster as soon as possible to Linda Kudrna.
4. A championship sleeve will be presented to the winning team.
5. No passes will be accepted.  Coaches, players, managers, and bus drivers will be stamped upon arrival.
6. No entry fee.
7. Locker room assignments will be made upon arrival.  Each team will be responsible for their own valuables.
8. Starting time for the first game will be 9:00am we will only take a short break before the championship game.
9. The team on top of the bracket will be considered the home team.  Home team will be the official book.

2 Sessions

Session 1: Grades 3-6

Session 2: Grades 7-12

Boys and girls in the grades above are welcome and encouraged to attend this two day camp. This camp will provide athletes with the fundamentals of ball handling, shooting, passing, defensive skills, sportsmanship, and rules of the game. The camp will be conducted by Hay Springs girls basketball coach Jason Badje and Hay Springs boys basketball coaches Josh Borm and Logan Paben. Students in grades 3-6 will also receive instruction from current HSHS boys and girls basketball players.

 

Session 1 (Grades 3-6) will run from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on June 8-9

Session 2 (Grades 7-12) will run from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. on June 8-9

 

Location: The camp will take place in the Lister-Sage Community Center

Cost: $20 for each athlete participating

Family deal: $20 for the first athlete and $10 for any siblings participating

Make checks payable to Jason Badje, Logan Paben or Josh Borm

Payments will be accepted any time before June 8 or prior to the camp on this date.
