The Lady Hawks travelled to Hemingford Tuesday night for their volleyball Parent’s Night, but did not come in ready to play. The Lady Bobcats started off hot and won the first two sets, with scores of 25-18 and 25-15. The Hawks fought back and won the third set, 25-11, but couldn’t keep the momentum going and lost 25-20 in the fourth set.
The leading scorer for the Lady Hawks was Steph Tlustos, with 10 points and 2 aces. She was closely followed by Kate Roberts, who scored 9 points and 4 aces. Freshman Sydney Tlustos scored a total of 7 points, with one ace serve in the mix, and Cydney Jancik scored 6 points with 2 aces. Whitney and Jesse Heiting each scored 5 points and 1 ace for Hay Springs. Whitney Heiting had 11 killer hits for the Hawks, and Kate Roberts was right behind her with 10 kills. Steph Tlustos contributed 8 kills for the Hawks. The leading digger was Cydney Jancik, with 11, followed by Kate Roberts with 8 digs. Katrena Ryan also had 4 digs and Whitney Heiting had 3.
